In the Golden Age of Offshore Racing
Dick presents the book to long time friend Sandy Weld. Sandy has been one of the most important figures in Dick’s sailing career and features countless times in the book. He is also the author of The Leading Edge, which details his experiences in ocean racing with Dick.
Following his success at the Royal Western Yacht Club, Dick will be giving presentations to promote his book at both the RORC (Royal Ocean Racing Club) in London (October 1st) and at the New York Yacht Club in Newport, RI (October 20th).
Big news! The first advance copy of Dick’s book has arrived. Here he is at his family’s summer house in the village of Cataumet, on Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod, where all of his sailing began.
Dick gave a presentation about some of his most famous designs at the Royal Western Yacht Club in Plymouth. He was also awarded a plaque by the President of Yacht Club Classique, Pierre-Loïc Chantereau.
